The term Neurology was first used by the English doctor Thomas Willis in the 17th century. This field of medicine examines diseases, illnesses and syndromes of the nervous system, the muscle system and the neuromuscular synapses, since they cause pure damage in these three areas. The etymology of the word if “the science of the nervous system”, and it should be separated from the specialty of psychiatry, although many neurological disorders are accompanied by psychiatrically symptoms and vice versa.
